VICTOR MANUELLE Closes Out 2017 As The Most Listened-To Salsa Artist On The U.S. And Latin American Airwaves

MIAMI (December 18, 2017) – Keeping salsa music fresh, innovative and influential in these changing musical times, the Puerto Rican tropical-music sensation Víctor Manuelle continues to ride the top of the airplay charts in the United States and Latin America.

Earlier this year, this Puerto Rican singer and songwriter released “Hasta Que Me Dé La Gana”, the first single from his forthcoming album. It spent 15 weeks straight at #1 on the Colombian airplay chart and reached the Top 10 on the Billboard “Tropical Airplay” chart in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. With this smash, he broke his own record as the artist with the most Top 10 singles in the history of the “Tropical Airplay” chart.

In the Dominican Republic, “Yo No Quería Engañarte” the final single from his 2015 album Que Suenen Los Tambores, became the year’s biggest salsa hit, spending four months at the top of the chart and continued its yearlong run in the Top 5.

Meanwhile, Víctor Manuelle is simultaneously #1 and #2 on the Peruvian airplay charts with his new single “Mala y Peligrosa”, and “Hasta Que Me Dé La Gana,” respectively. He’s the only salsa artist this year to hold down the top two spots.

Featuring the Latin-trap leader Bad Bunny, “Mala y Peligrosa” shows that Víctor Manuelle remains an influential force in his genre. This single’s official music video received 24 million views on his VEVO channel within one month of its premiere, making it the most-viewed salsa video of 2017.

Among his other outstanding accomplishments this year are his HBO Latino special, and his collaboration with Luis Fonsi on the salsa version of “Despacito” which was performed as the grand finale of the 2017 Latin GRAMMYs®. Salsa music remains in good hands thanks to the hard work and inspiration of Víctor Manuelle.
