Roberto Carlos lanza su íntimo álbum en directo PRIMERA FILA, el 30 de octubre Este proyecto renueva las canciones inmortales del rey de la música popular brasileña con nuevas interpretaciones y arreglos. Grabado en Londres en los míticos estudios Abbey Road   El nuevo lanzamiento de la aclamada serie Primera Fila de Sony Musicpertenece al legendario Roberto Carlos con un CD+DVD de colección. Durante los días 11 y 12 de Mayo de 2015, el rey de la música popular brasileña grabó un concierto íntimo en portugués y español, en los estudios Abbey Road de Londres. Acompañado por una banda creada especialmente para la ocasión, Roberto Carlos presenta versiones nunca antes editadas de algunos de sus grandes clásicos como “La Distancia”, “Amigo” o “Lady Laura” así como una grabación inédita del éxito de The Beatles “And I Love Her” y canciones inéditas en Español.   Primera Fila también marca 50 años de carrera en español de Roberto Carlos, siendo el artista brasileño más exitoso en Latinoamérica con más de 120 millones de álbumes vendidos. El DVD incluye también un documental con una entrevista exclusiva con Roberto Carlos sobre su nueva propuesta y su carrera en América Latina.   “Los arreglos de las canciones que canto en este proyecto son totalmente diferentes a los originales. Son muy buenos, maravillosos.”, afirma Roberto Carlos. El primer sencillo “Te Amo, Te Amo, Te Amo” es renovado al ritmo de reggae, mientras “Las Curvas de Santos”, por ejemplo, se destaca por su vibrante sección de metales. “Tuve que interpretar estas canciones de manera diferente a como lo había hecho durante todos estos años.”   Afo Verde, Presidente y CEO de Sony Music Latin Iberia, es el productor y creador de este proyecto. Él se encargó de unir un grupo de músicos talentosos para acompañar a Roberto Carlos. La dirección musical corrió a cargo de Tim Mitchell (Shakira, Ricky Martin). Co-produjeron el proyecto Fernando Cabral de Melo y Alex Gallardo.   Primera Fila conmemora el 50º aniversario del primer álbum de Roberto Carlos en español: Roberto Carlos Canta a La Juventud. Realizar ese disco pionero fue idea del entonces presidente de Sony Music Argentina, Alberto Caldeiro. Para Roberto Carlos, fue una experiencia reveladora. “Nunca pensé que algún día llegaría a grabar discos en otros idiomas además de portugués.”   Un dato curioso que Roberto Carlos revela en el documental es que su primera presentación pública fue en español, a los nueve años. En un programa de radio, interpretó “Amor y Más Amor” (de Fernando Borel). EnPrimera Fila, canta sus éxitos “Las Curvas de Santos” y “A Volta (Tu Regreso)” en español por primera vez, y canta a dúo con el cantante y autor mexicano Marco Antonio Solis en “Arrastra Una Silla.”   Por su parte, Afo Verde subraya la importancia de realizar este disco en Abbey Road: “Abbey Road es un estudio donde se ha grabado música que el mundo entero conoce, que el mundo entero ha disfrutado. Me ilusionaba imaginar a una leyenda como Roberto Carlos grabando sus maravillosas canciones allí. Roberto es un ícono de la historia de la música latina. Me encanta saber que ya es uno de los grandes que han grabado en ese lugar.” La grabación de Primera Fila involucró a más de 100 personas de los equipos de Roberto Carlos y Sony Music.   2015 es el año internacional de Roberto Carlos. Después de recibir el premio Billboard Lifetime Achievement en reconocimiento a su notable carrera en el Billboard Latin Music Awards 2015, el cantante y compositor ha sido elegido como la Persona del Año 2015 de La Academia Latina de la Grabación®. Se realizará un homenaje repleto de estrellas en Las Vegas, el día 18 de noviembre, cuando el artista – cuatro veces vencedor del Latin GRAMMY® – será homenajeado como la Personalidad del Año 2015. El prestigiado evento antecederá a la 16ª Entrega Anual del Latin GRAMMY, donde también se presentará en vivo.   Track list:

Roberto Carlos Releases His Intimate Live Album PRIMERA FILA, October 30th

 

“PRIMERA FILA” renews the timeless songs of the king of Brazilian popular music with new versions and arrangements
Recorded in London at the legendary Abbey Road Studios

 

The new release of Sony Music’s acclaimed live series Primera Fila belongs to the legendary Roberto Carlos, in a CD+DVD. On May 11th and 12th , 2015, the king of Brazilian popular music recorded an intimate concert in Portuguese and Spanish, at Abbey Road Studios in London. Backed by a handpicked band of the top musicians in the industry created just for the occasion, Roberto Carlos performed new versions of the greatest classics of his career such as “La Distancia”, “Amigo” and “Lady Laura”, along with a brand new recording of The Beatles’ timeless song “And I Love Her”, plus songs that he recorded in Spanish for the first time.

 

Primera Fila also celebrates the 50th anniversary of Roberto Carlos’ recording career in Spanish. With over 120 million albums sold, he is the most successful Brazilian artist in Latin America. The Primera Fila DVD also includes a documentary with an exclusive interview of Roberto Carlos about the project and his career in Latin America.

 

“The arrangements of the songs that I sing in this project are completely different from the original versions. They are spectacular.” Roberto Carlos points out. The first single “Te Amo, Te Amo, Te Amo” is renewed with a reggae beat, while “Las Curvas de Santos” features a shimmering brass section. “I had to sing these songs with a completely different approach from what I was used to all these years.”

 

Afo Verde, Chairman and CEO of Sony Music Latin Region, Spain and Portugal, is the producer and creator of this project. He was in charge of getting the best musicians together to accompany Roberto Carlos. Tim Mitchell (Shakira, Ricky Martin) was the Musical Director, while Fernando Cabral de Melo and Alex Gallardo co-produced the project.

 

Primera Fila commemorates the 50th anniversary of Roberto Carlos’ first album in Spanish: Roberto Carlos Canta a La Juventud. The idea of recording this pioneer album was proposed by the President of Sony Music Argentina at that time, Alberto Caldeiro. For Roberto Carlos, it was a very new experience. “I never thought that someday I would get to record in other languages besides Portuguese.”

 

An interesting fact that Roberto Carlos reveals during the documentary is that his first public performance was in Spanish, at the age of 9. On a radio program, he sang “Amor y Más Amor” (Fernando Borel). On Primera Fila, he sings his classics such as “Las Curvas de Santos” and “A Volta (Tu Regreso)” in Spanish for the first time. He also duets with the Mexican singer and songwriter Marco Antonio Solis on “Arrastra Una Silla”.

 

On his side, Afo Verde emphasized the significance of his decision to record the album at Abbey Road: “Abbey Road is a studio that has recorded music that the whole world knows, that the whole world has enjoyed. It thrilled me to imagine a legend like Roberto Carlos recording his amazing songs there. Roberto is an icon in the history of Latin music. It delights me to know that he is now among the greats who have recorded in there.” Producing Primera Fila involved over 100 people from the teams of Roberto Carlos and Sony Music.

 

2015 is the international year of Roberto Carlos. In April, he received the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Awardat the 2015 Billboard Latin Music Awards. This singer, songwriter and four-time Latin GRAMMY® winner is also the recipient of the 2015 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year®. He will be presented this award and receive a star-studded tribute on November 18 in Las Vegas, prior to the 16th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards which take place on November 19, and where he will perform live.
