RICARDO MONTANER dedica su Premio a la Excelencia en los Latin GRAMMY ® a Dios y al pueblo de Venezuela
MIAMI (17 de noviembre, 2016) – El cantautor venezolano Ricardo Montaner recibió hoy el Premio a la Excelencia por parte de la Academia Latina de Grabaciones (LARAS, por sus siglas en inglés).
El famoso megáfono fue entregado por el también cantautor venezolano Yordano junto a tres de los cinco hijos del creador de La cima del cielo, Alejandro, Ricky y Mauricio.
Montaner dedicó el premio primero a Jesucristo y luego a los venezolanos que salen a las calles hoy día a buscar en los basureros algo para comer, a los presos políticos y presos por conciencia como Leopoldo López.
En la emotiva ceremonia se honró también al cantante y compositor argentino Piero, a la cantante mexicana Eugenia León, a la cantante puertorriqueña Ednita Nazario y al famoso grupo español El Consorcio.
La carrera de Montaner abarca 23 álbumes inéditos y más de 30 millones de discos vendidos. Éxitos como “Déjame llorar”, “Será”, “En el último lugar del mundo”, ”Tan enamorados”, ”Me va a extrañar” y ”La cima del cielo” son parte de la banda sonora de millones de latinoamericanos en el mundo.
Justo antes de la entrega de su premio se pasó un video que recorrió a grandes rasgos la prolifera carrera artística de Montaner y además su labor social, especialmente por la niñez, como Embajador de UNICEF y su fundación en Miami: La Ventana de Los Cielos.
RICARDO MONTANER dedicates his Lifetime Achievement Award at the Latin GRAMMYs® to the people of Venezuela
MIAMI (November 17, 2016) – As part of the official festivities for the 17th edition of the Latin GRAMMYs®, the Venezuelan singer and songwriter Ricardo Montaner yesterday received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
The iconic statuette was presented to Ricardo Montaner by his fellow Venezuelan singer-songwriter, Yordano. Three of his five children, Alejandro, Ricky and Mauricio, were in attendance.
Montaner dedicated this award first to Jesus Christ, and then to the suffering people of Venezuela, many of whom must search through dumpsters for daily scraps of food. Furthermore, he recognized the country’s political prisoners, and prisoners of conscience such as Leopoldo López.
Also receiving Lifetime Achievement Awards were the Argentine singer and songwriter Piero, the Mexican folk singer Eugenia León, the Puerto Rican pop-rock artist Ednita Nazario and the Spanish vocal group El Consorcio.
Montaner has released 23 studio albums, and his total sales surpass 30 million units. Millions of Latinos around the world know his classics such as “Déjame Llorar” (Let Me Cry), “Será” (It Will Be), “En El Último Lugar Del Mundo” (In the Last Place in the World), “Tan Enamorados” (So In Love), “Me Va a Extrañar” (She’s Going to Miss Me) and “La Cima del Cielo” (The Heights of Heaven) by heart.
His award presentation was preceded by a video that paid tribute to his prolific career and his humanitarian work, especially his service as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and his foundation in Miami known as La Ventana de Los Cielos (The Window of the Heavens).
