Prince Royce Tops Billboard’s 2013 Latin Music Year-End Charts!


MIAMI, Florida (December 16, 2013). Young singer-songwriter Prince Royce tops Billboard’s 2013 Year End Charts. . . The twenty-four year old earned the #2 on the “Top Latin Artists” chart, second only to the late and beloved Jenni Rivera. Royce also garnered #1 on the “Latin Songs Artists” and the “Latin Pop Airplay Artists” charts due to the success of hit singles “Darte Un Beso” and “Te Me Vas”. Prince Royce’s latest hit single, “Darte Un Beso” (, has been the #1 song in the country for 10 weeks according to Billboard’s “Hot Latin Songs” chart. The song that debuted on radio twenty weeks ago, first earned the #1 spot on the radio in the US and Puerto Rico (Billboard Latin airplay) in late August, and has remained at the top of the music charts ever since. With “Darte Un Beso”, Royce debuted on Billboard’s “Hot Latin Songs” at #2, posting the best “Hot Latin Songs” debut for any artist since the chart was optimized in the October 20, 2012 issue. Since then the song has remained at #1 or #2 every single week. The song is the first single off the young artist’s third album “Soy El Mismo” ( /SoyElMismoitunes) which debuted at #1 in US and PR nine weeks ago and has remained in the Top 10 ever since.   Earlier this year, the artist signed a major recording contract with Sony Music Entertainment with plans to release Spanish-language albums through Sony Music Latin as well as English-language albums via RCA Records. Fans can expect Prince Royce’s first Spanish-language album under Sony to be released this fall with an English-language release slated for 2014. Prince Royce is the biggest breakthrough artist the Latin music industry has seen in many years.  His self-titled debut album has been certified 3x Platinum in the US and Puerto Rico, and 4x Platinum in Chile. The twenty-three year old has recorded hit songs with superstars Maná, Daddy Yankee, Selena Gomez and Thalia, toured the US with Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull, closed 2012 with his own 30-city US tour which included sold-out shows at Radio City Music Hall and the NOKIA Theatre LA LIVE, and was the winning coach in the debut season of the top-rated US Latin TV show La Voz Kids.  He had the honor of performing at the prestigious Viña Del Mar Music Festival in 2012 garnering the top honors – something unprecedented for a young developing artist. Royce is a three time Latin Grammy nominee and has won 16 Latin Billboard Awards, 13 Premio Lo Nuestro and 17 Premios Juventud.  At the age of twenty-two, he garnered the Composer of the Year Award at the 2012 Latin Billboard Awards, becoming the youngest person in the history of the awards to receive the honor; and at 23 he won the 2013 BMI Latin Songwriter of the Year Award.
