Prince Royce “Artist of the Year” at Premio Lo Nuestro Awards
PRINCE ROYCE WINS THREE 2014 PREMIO LO NUESTRO AWARDS INCLUDING “ARTIST OF THE YEAR”
For the fourth consecutive year Prince Royce is a top winner at Latin music’s highest-rated award show Premio Lo Nuestro, receiving three awards including the prestigious “Artist of the Year” honor. He also garnered awards for “Tropical Male Artist of the Year” and “Contemporary Tropical Male Artist of the Year”. The young singer-songwriter who has achieved phenomenal success since his 2010 debut, has received a total of 16 Premio Lo Nuestro in his short career. Royce also performed his brand new radio single “Te Robaré” for the first time on television. The song is the second single off the artist’s third album “Soy El Mismo” (www.smarturl.it /SoyElMismoitunes) which debuted at #1 in US and PR in October and is now certified Platinum according to the RIAA. It’s first single “Darte Un Beso” (http://smarturl.it/DarteUnBeso), was the #1 song in the country for 14 weeks according to Billboard’s “Hot Latin Songs” chart. Royce recently received an impressive 16 Billboard Latin Music Awards nominations. The 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards will be broadcast live on the Telemundo Network on April 24th from the BankUnited Center in Miami, Florida. In 2013, the artist signed a major recording contract with Sony Music Entertainment for the release of Spanish-language albums through Sony Music Latin as well as English-language albums via RCA Records. Prince Royce is managed by David Sonenberg and William Derella for DAS Communications Ltd. Prince Royce is the biggest breakthrough artist the Latin music industry has seen in many years. His self-titled debut album has been certified 3x Platinum in the US and Puerto Rico, and 4x Platinum in Chile. The twenty-four year old has recorded hit songs with superstars Maná, Daddy Yankee, Selena Gomez and Thalia, toured the US with Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull, closed 2012 with his own 30-city US tour which included sold-out shows at Radio City Music Hall and the NOKIA Theatre LA LIVE, and was the winning coach in the debut season of the top-rated US Latin TV show La Voz Kids. He had the honor of performing at the prestigious Viña Del Mar Music Festival in 2012 garnering the top honors – something unprecedented for a young developing artist. Royce is a three time Latin Grammy nominee and has won 16 Latin Billboard Awards, 13 Premio Lo Nuestro and 17 Premios Juventud. At the age of twenty-two, he garnered the Composer of the Year Award at the 2012 Latin Billboard Awards, becoming the youngest person in the history of the awards to receive the honor; and at 23 he won the 2013 BMI Latin Songwriter of the Year Award.
