17th Annual Latin Alternative Music Conference Celebrates Ileana Cabra As This Year’s ‘Artist Discovery’ Award Winner

iLe Released Her Debut LP ‘iLevitable’ With Praise from NPR, The New York Times, Univision, and more!

The 17th annual Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) has announced a winner for this year’s ‘Artist Discovery’ award: iLe. On Thursday, iLe received the award at the LAMC Showcase at the Highline Ballroom. Previous LAMC “Artist Discovery” winners include Carla Morrison, Kinky, Los Rakas and Buscabulla, providing a springboard into established careers. Referred to as the “Sundance of Latin music”, the LAMC serves as a continuous indicator of what is up and coming. As part of her win, iLe received gifts from Shure, Pioneer DJ, Native Instruments and Gibson.

After being an important part of Calle 13, Ileana Cabra or iLe just released her solo album iLevitable inspired in sounds of the past like the bolero and bugalú. iLe’siLevitable, was featured as a “First Listen” on NPR and critically-acclaimed by outlets like The New York Times.

The 17th annual LAMC has been yet another exciting year. With more than 1,250 attendees, the conference provides networking opportunities with the genre’s leading artists, entrepreneurs, journalists, marketers, managers and programmers, in addition to the LAMC concerts and showcases across New York City.
