Boy band CNCO is ready — ready, that is, to take home some awards.

For Premios Juventud — Univision’s version of the Teen Choice Awards, which takes place at 8 p.m. Thursday at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, with a red carpet at 7 p.m. — the group, winners of the talent show “La Banda,” earned six nominations. That makes the group of five Latino singers the second-most nominated artists, earning them nominations for Voice of the Moment, The Catchiest Song, My Artist Pop Rock, Producer’s Choice, My Favorite to Tweet and My Fan-army Favorite.

“Truthfully, we never thought we were even going to get one. This has been such a blessing and crazy,” said Erick Brian Colón, 15, from Cuba. “When we found out that we were nominated six times our mouths were wide open. We couldn’t believe it.”

Since winning the hearts of judges Ricky Martin, Laura Pausini and Alejandro Sanz, Colón, Christopher Velez (Ecuador), Joel Pimentel (Mexico), Richard Camacho (Dominican Republic) and Zabdiel De Jesus (Puerto Rico) have been traveling the country and experiencing what they all say has been their dream since they were kids.

Opening for Ricky Martin’s concerts, singing the national anthem at Yankee Stadium, performing during Times Square’s New Year’s Eve party and going to award shows have been among the highlights.

“Having our song on the radio is such a dream. Being No. 1 on Latin radio stations and iTunes — I think those are great opportunities that very few people get to have and for all of this to happen to all of us at such a young age, we feel very blessed,” said De Jesus, 18.

Premios Juventud nominations are the next step in their careers. They see the show as an opportunity to perform and give back to those young fans who engage with them, follow them, support them and have waited long hours outside hotels for the possibility of a photo.

“It’s a beautiful feeling that I wish more people could live. It’s really wonderful to see a girl crying because she saw you, and it’s also really sweet. These opportunities don’t happen twice in a lifetime,” said Velez, 20. “We treat the fans the same way we want other artists to treat us, because we also admire many of them, and we just want to give our fans the best of us.”

After their arrival in Miami on Sunday, the group began to prepare for their performance during Thursday evening’s award show. They’re happy to work, but most of all, they feel confident about winning.

“We’ve been practicing a lot. We’ve been trying to figure out what we’re gonna do, trying to prepare our minds if let’s say we win an award,” said Camacho, 19. “So we’re trying to prepare ourselves for what we’re gonna do and what we are going to present to you all, and just very excited and anxious.”
