Gilberto Santa Rosa Honrado en Nueva York!!
Nueva York, NY (25 de septiembre de 2012) – Galardonado con 5 premios GRAMMY®, la superestrella latina GILBERTO SANTA ROSA fue homenajeado ayer por la noche en el Hotel Waldorf Astoria de Nueva York. Gilberto fue el receptor del “Premio a la Trayectoria Cultural” para el uso de la música como un instrumento para promover el desarrollo en todo el mundo en los “South-South Awards 2012”.
Gilberto asistió a la gala repleta de estrellas, jefes de Estado, primeros ministros, embajadores, delegados y otros dignatarios extranjeros la noche del domingo. Los premios del 2012 fueron organizados por la Organización Mundial del Turismo y la cooperación South-South, y premian los renglones del Gobierno Electrónico y Turismo Sostenible. La cena tuvo lugar en la víspera ante la Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas. Antes de aceptar su premio Gilberto entretuvo a los asistentes mediante la realización de su hit número uno, "Que Alguien Me Diga" acompañado por el director musical Robin DiMaggio. Otras celebridades presentes fueron Sammy Sosa, Russell Simmons, Leila Lopes - Miss Universo 2011, las "Águilas", vocalista y guitarrista Don Felder y violinista Miri Ben-Ari.
El nuevo single de Gilberto, "¿Estás ahí?", se estrenó en la radio nacional la semana pasada. La canción co-escrita por él mismo Santa Rosa y Rafi Monclova es el primer sencillo de su próximo álbum homónimo, Gilberto Santa Rosa que saldrá a la venta el próximo 6 de noviembre mediante su casa disquera Sony Music Latin. Gilberto llevará su gira “Ella El Concierto” a los Estados Unidos, comenzando el 13 de octubre en el James L. Knight Center de Miami. Otras fechas son 15 de octubre en Washington DC, 18 de octubre en Atlanta, 20 de octubre en West Palm Beach, 25 de octubre en Wilmington y 27 de octubre en New Haven en el Teatro Shubert.
Gilberto fue el artista invitado en la edición de Nueva York de las Sesiones Acústicas de los Latin Grammy, que tuvo lugar el pasado jueves en el Broad Street Ballroom. El artista también se presentará en el evento de Chicago el próximo jueves en el Chicago Symphony Center.

New York, NY (September 25, 2012) – 5 time GRAMMY® award winning, Latin superstar GILBERTO SANTA ROSA was honored last night at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Gilberto was the recipient of the 2012 South-South Award for Lifetime Cultural Achievement for using music as an instrument to promote development around the world.
Gilberto attended the star studded gala Sunday evening along with heads of state, prime ministers, ambassadors, delegates and other foreign dignitaries. The 2012 awards organized by the United Nations World Tourism and South-South News Organizations honored achievements in E-Government and Sustainable Tourism. The dinner took place on the eve before the United Nations General Assembly. Before accepting his award Gilberto entertained the attendees by performing his number one hit, "Que Alguien Me Diga" accompanied by the evening's musical director Robin Dimaggio. Other celebrities present included Sammy Sosa, Russell Simmons, Leila Lopes - Miss Universe 2011, the “Eagles” lead singer and guitar player Don Felder and violinist Miri Ben-Ari.
Last week Gilberto's new single, “¿Estás Ahí?” was released to national radio, the song co-written by himself and Rafi Monclova is the first from his upcoming self-titled album, Gilberto Santa Rosa to be released on November 6th by Sony Music Latin. Gilberto will bring his tour “Ella El Concierto” to the United States beginning with an October 13th show at the James L. Knight Center in Miami. Other dates include October 15th in Washington D.C., October 18th in Atlanta, October 20th in West Palm Beach, October 25th in Wilmington and October 27th in New Haven at the Shubert Theater.
Gilberto was the featured performer at the New York edition of the Latin Grammy Acoustic Sessions which took place this past Thursday at the Broad Street Ballroom. He will perform at the Chicago event this coming Thursday at Chicago Symphony Center.
